Chaplains are more service oriented than religious in nature. They are men and women that do not just talk, they reach out to a special group of people who normally are not touched by the local church. Chaplains go out into the world seeking those who are lost and suffering rather than waiting for them to come to them.

Rev. W. Douglas Russell is Pastor of Serenity Christian Ministry, an Associate Pastor of True Grace Ministries, has been ordained by Saint Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries of Hephzibah, GA., Holy Christian Life Church, has received a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Saint Luke Evangelical School of Biblical Studies , and is a member of TGM Christian Ministers Association, The International Chaplain's Association, United Christian Faith Ministries, The National Association of Wedding Ministers and THE PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER TEAM.

I offer a non-judgmental ministry in the Christian Tradition to those couples who prefer a faith-centered service to a purely civil ceremony. I will accommodate you when your parish will not. If one of you is divorced, or no longer attend church, but still identify yourself as Christian, you are welcome!

Since it is your marriage, I invite you to take part in planning your wedding ceremony to the extent you wish. You may choose the prayers, songs, reading, vows and the format of the ceremony. I will assist you as necessary.

Prior to your wedding, I can meet with you, if you wish, to get acquainted, to answer any questions you may have regarding your ceremony, have you fill out a informational sheet, and to get copies of your I.D's. I also encourage you to raise any issues you wish about your relationship, your faith in God and your future together as a married couple.

As Pastor of Serenity Christian Ministry, I believe in freedom of religion. If you have a belief in God, a Higher Power, or in a Spirit of your understanding, I will be glad to be of service to you. Attending a church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. God wants us to have a relationship, NOT RELIGION. A relationship with God starts in you heart.

My wedding ceremony fee varies starting at: $350.00 (Lower Hartford-Middletown), $375.00 (Middlesex-Tolland), $395.00 (Old Saybrook, New Haven & New London) and $425.00 (Mystic, Fairfield & Windham) to $450.00, depending on the time required leading up to the ceremony, the number of times we meet and the distance traveled.
There is also a rehearsal fee (if you decide to have one) of up to 50% of the ceremony fee. (minimum Fee $125)
A $100.00 deposit is required to confirm your wedding date, time and location. You may print and mail the deposit form from the link below, along with the pre-wedding questionnaire. The remainder of the fee, along with your Marriage License is due prior to your ceremony.
You DO NOT need a blood test, and you can get your license EITHER where you live, OR the town the ceremony will take place. The license will be good for 65 days. I will register your marriage with Serenity Christian Ministry and the State of Connecticut, and present you with a Certificate of Marriage and a KJV copy of The Bible.
